Always interesting what the mainstream tech blogs react to in sports tech. TechCrunch and then Gizmodo jumped on a new cycling App for Apple Portables, called Pedal Brain.  The interesting take here is wireless connectivity for connecting a biker to several measuring devices. Just to show you we can advance the techno ball a bit on stories like this, the real sleeper here for wireless apps in sports devices will be the next generation of wireless networks. Sprint’s 4G network is already in about 15 markets. Verizon is rolling out its LTE service by years end (2010). And revenue hungry operators will be up for any idea that gets them cash … including virtual training programs. We expect to see by next year, cyclists pumping out wireless telemetry back into home computers. For analysis and coaching. Wow!  Did we just scoop TechCrunch. Arington is going to pissed!
