Looks like Twitter has met its match: college football. The Southeastern Conference announced a new media policy that essentially bans folks from reporting on a game via Twitter or Facebook or other social media as the game goes on. On one hand, it shows just how out of touch the member universities of the SEC are in attempting to control behavior on such a granular level. Conversely, you have to hand it to the sports leagues. They understand a threat when they see it. With no upside yet for Twitter, they see no reason to devalue what they do in the hopes of making it up on some silly cross-marketing play.
